I have a sadistic Belgian Pilates teacher who loves to put those of us in her classes in stress positions and then make us lift weights. Whoever thinks Pilates is easy hasn’t been to a class in Belgium.
The situation with my book, Our Sisters, feels similar. I’m writing to you while stretched taut between the writing and the revealing. I have so many incredible stories to share, but although I’ve written them, they are not available yet. My publisher, Authentic Media, has my completed manuscript, and now I am waiting for the team to work their magic with it. It’s wonderful to have their help with editing, design and promotion, but I feel as if I am in limbo.
In the meantime, I am going to Pakistan. I’ll be travelling during this indeterminate season, adding to my treasure of stories, which I feel I may burst with if I don’t share them soon, while also longing for more action to be taken to help the women and situations I have described.
I can share a few details about the remarkable people I’m visiting; for a fuller description, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until the book is published. I’m flying to Lahore in Punjab to see the Cecil & Iris Chaudhry Foundation. A Pakistani Christian war hero established this organisation, and his daughter now runs it. I witnessed her fame when, at the end of a recent online interview, a Muslim lawyer who had waited out of sight the whole time asked to say hello to her. He was keen to meet a member of this famous family.
Following my stay in Lahore, I’ll be going to a more rural area to see the work being done by a Christian action man who busts Pakistani Christians out of slavery. I can’t wait.
I’d love your prayers, please. I want to be helpful and encouraging while I am in Pakistan and not just a Christian tourist. I’m thrilled that I have maintained my commitment to working with locals rather than relying on foreign NGOs while writing my book, but I feel a little vulnerable travelling on my own.
Let me know if you’re also in a transitory phase between one stage and another. I’d love to pray for you.
Anna

I realise not everyone who visits my site is a Christian. If you’d like to find out more about faith and are wondering what all the fuss is about, then you might want to take a look here. You’ll need to register, but there’s no spam, and the resources are completely free.
Can you support my writing? I’m undertaking some challenging (and costly) new projects, so please consider buying one of my books, and if you’d like to encourage me, please think about donating to help the women I write about on Kofi.
DislocatedChristians exists to create and support a community of like-minded people. I’ve described myself as Dislocated because I sometimes struggle to understand how God wants me to be in the world, but not of the world. I also move house a lot!
Just as we are each a work in progress, so too is DislocatedChristians. Sometimes I’ll get things wrong, and I hope you’ll forgive me and continue to stick around when that happens.
