Our Sisters … it’s time to celebrate

Please join me as I celebrate (I’m sorry I can’t bring you all to the Grand Place in Mons!)

I’m jubilant; I just submitted my completed manuscript for Our Sisters, about persecuted women in and from Pakistan, to my publisher. Woohoo!

It took a little under two years to complete, is 71,543 words long, and spans 138 Word document pages. It includes interviews with activists, campaigners, journalists, pastors, and girls and women directly affected by oppression. I can’t wait to introduce them to you. Yes, they face enormous difficulties, but their resilience and fortitude are inspiring. I hope my writing has done justice to their experiences.

The book will eventually be published around this time next year to mark the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church or International Day of the Girl Child; my publisher will decide based on their other commitments. Please sign up here to be notified when the book is available for pre-order.

Despite the long wait, there is much to do in the meantime. My publisher will edit my writing for accuracy and grammar, and there may be additional elements I need to explain or produce. With my last book, my publisher asked for a map; this is what I came up with, maybe you recognise it from Come With me to Kathmandu.

Then, the text will be typeset and edited again for layout, such as checking chapters and page numbering. I’ll work with a graphic designer to create a cover, and there will be promotional materials to write and record. I loved the process last time, except for producing videos of myself, which was weird!

Please join me in celebrating and praying that this next book will bring the plight of Christian women in Pakistan to the fore.

Thank you for supporting me!

Anna

I realise not everyone who visits my site is a Christian,. If you’d like to find out more about faith and are wondering what all the fuss is about, then you might want to take a look here. You’ll need to register, but there’s no spam, and the resources are completely free.

Can you support my writing? I’m undertaking some challenging (and costly) new projects, so please consider buying one of my books, and if you’d like to encourage me, please think about donating to help the women I write about on Kofi.

DislocatedChristians exists to create and support a community of like-minded people. I’ve described myself as Dislocated because I sometimes struggle to understand how God wants me to be in the world, but not of the world. I also move house a lot!

Just as we are each a work in progress, so too is DislocatedChristians. Sometimes I’ll get things wrong, and I hope you’ll forgive me and continue to stick around when that happens.
