Reflections on Job 23

Here’s the text as usual.

Some points I noted

  • Now God seems miles away (compare with Job 14) and Job can’t find him.
  • Job wants to reason with God and use logic.
  • Job acknowledges that he doesn’t need to search for God because God knows exactly where he is.
  • Job is confident that he has been obedient to God (How many of us can say that? And would it seem arrogant if we did?)
  • God no longer seems like he can be reasoned with or changed.
  • Job is terrified of him.
