It was an absolute privilege to interview Anju for my forthcoming book, ‘Come with me to Kathmandu: 12 powerful stories of women’s courageous faith in Nepal’. She has an incredible story, full of ups and downs, and she related her story to me with a sparkle in her eye. I’m tempted to tell you how she made her fortune at the age of 17, but you’ll have to buy the book to find out! Authentic Media will release it to mark International Women’s Day in 2023.
When Anju’s third child was just eleven days old, she awoke to find herself paralysed. Her family tried everything to heal her, including western medicine and cow urine, as recommended by the local shaman. Nothing worked until she went to church and Jesus healed her.
This is Anju’s praise song to thank God for her healing. Enjoy!
I’m sharing pictures and videos to add colour to the stories in the book. You can find them on these platforms; please follow me on whichever of them you prefer:
DislocatedChristians exists to create and support a community of like-minded people. My prayer is that you’ll find some echoes of your dilemmas with church, culture and the world in these pieces, and it will encourage you to know others have the same thoughts. Please like, comment on or share my articles if you’ve found them helpful. I’d be immensely grateful if you could follow me; click towards the bottom of the page.
If you’d like to support my writing, please consider buying one of my books.
Just as we are each a work in progress, so too is DislocatedChristians. Sometimes I’ll get things wrong, and I hope you’ll forgive me and continue to stick around when that happens.
