I love that a #Youthquake is occurring among Florida’s students and ending gun violence is their aim

At the end of last year, the Oxford English Dictionary named Youthquake as its word of the year. Despite many people not having heard of the word before they chose this word because it was far more optimistic than the other contenders and the judges hoped it was a word people could rally around.

Now a youthquake has reached Florida and students there are staring down the gun industry and the infamous NRA. I pray they can achieve significant change. Not only bringing about legislation to end gun violence and stemming the flow of huge amounts of money to the NRA, but also changing the hearts of people in America so that they are no longer numb to gun violence.

Many have pointed to the biblical picture of restoration and peace in the bible. Isaiah 11:6 says ‘In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all’. Right now, I want to follow where these young people are leading.
